Title: Sub-Models and Lines
Post by: bwinter on November 15, 2016, 11:08:22 PM
I'm noticing that within the sub-models, you can add multiple lines (to differentiate various sub-lines within the sub-model).

In the sequencing tab, you can add effects to each sub-model independently (as is the intent of sub-models).  However, you can't expand the sub-model to have sequencing-access to the lines within the sub-model.

How are these lines intended to be used within the sub-model?

Those are really for setting up a grid for the submodel.   xLights renders to 2 dimensional grids.   Each "line" in the submodel panel corresponds to a row for the grid.   If you only have one line defined, your grid will only have a single row (and pretty much act like a single strand).   Effects that have directionality or positioning in them will render very differently.
