i always see shows on youtube and the music is perfect with the video.
is there an app people use to merge the video with the music?

I've always used Movie Maker. I record the video with the audio then when I make the movie I can lineup the waveform to get it timed then I can get rid of the original audio track that was probably from the radio.

Same idea but I use iMovie on the mac. Load up the recorded video with audio, detach the audio from the video and delete the detached audio track and then put in the mp3 version of the song that the lights are sequenced to and adjust the mp3 audio to perfectly fit the video.

There are tons of good Windows solutions. Sony Vegas Pro, Cyberlink PowerDirector, etc. My personal favorite right now is Camtasia but its like $300. Adobe Premiere Pro is also a professional quality program.
