I've updated to the latest version of xLights. I tested my lights running off my E1.31 and they seem to be fine; I can "output to lights" in the sequencer, see how the lights look and then turn off "output to lights" -- no problems. But when I connect my LOR controllers via my COM3 port, the lights work but when I turn off "output to lights", my computer crashes (message reads "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE"). I've talked to the Microsoft Windows 10 folks (as suggested in the message); not a software issue. I talked with a Samsung on-line computer expert and he double-checked all the device drivers (they all look okay). Any thoughts? My LOR network is Output #1, COM3, 57600 baud, 48 channels, Channels 1-48, Active Yes.

I have no idea. Have you tried hitting the Stop play button before turning off output to lights? I'm guessing its trying to send a couple straggler packets to the com port after we close the port.

Yes. Play has been stopped before I click the "Output to lights" button.

Are you hitting the stop sign?

The square box or the stop sign, doesn't matter. Lights appear to be running perfectly (both LOR/COM3 and E1.31/RGB) when I play a sequence.

I had the same problem. All of my E1.31 controllers are outside. I have one LOR AC controller inside to control my programmable sign and a amplifier. I figured I would use ether my USB RS485 adapter or my ActiDongle to control it. Both require the FTDI driver. But when I loaded the FTDI driver I started having the same problem you have. I tried it on two different computers with the same problem.
So I unloaded the driver and ran a cat5 from the DMX output on one of the cards out in the yard back into the house to control the LOR card, the problem went away.
Hope that helps.

I'm having the same issue after loading the LOR dongle driver. I tried to use the RS485 output from a Alphapix controller but it did not work. I set out the output from the alphapix and made a crossover cable, so iI must have missed something in the set up of the LOR controller. Did you have to change the channel config in LOR to DMX to make it work?
Thanks

So users have been running shows with the LOR dongle in xLights for a few years. It would be nice if someone could figure out what changed that is causing crashes. Possibilities are 1) the FTDI driver was updated, 2) a change in xLights is causing the crash, 3) an OS update is causing the crash.

The LOR controller should detect DMX. I set it for Channel 1. Used the chart here https://auschristmaslighting.com/wiki/DMX_Adapter_Leads for the wiring.

Thanks Jim I was missing pin 7 to pin 6 on the RJ45 plug.
