Looks really good, love those white trees you put the pixels in.  Maybe one of these years l'll get some of those on clearance :-)

Looks really good again Logan, if you wanted to share this one, you could copy off the sequence and delete the effects on the mega tree you bought from holiday sequences.

Then those that want the same effects, could buy them and import them in.

Here is a link to the dropbox folder with the sequence files minus the mega tree to Light of Christmas. Also included the audacity info so in theory (never tested this though) if you have the audio file of the song it should ( I think) produce the shortened version i made and used.

Thank you for posting. I'm very new to this and could use a little guidance.
If I download the file, I get a page with a bunch of coding on it... what do I do with that? How do I use it?

That's a .xml file that has to placed into a separate directory from your normal xlights folder.  Do some searching on sequence sharing, might be an entry in the wiki, there are videos.

It's not complicated, but it is involved and takes some learning.

Importing a sequence is also documented in the manual.

The presents i just made of white Coro with bits of black Coro stuck on the look like ribbon. Then just got glued some dumb RGB rectangular nodes on the bottom piece of Coro.

Another quick sequence, this one a bit rough but done pretty much last minute over the last  two days - oh the joys of using xlights and whole house effects. :)

Last video. I will try and put the xml files etc for Can't stop the feeling and September into the shared sequences section, if anyone wants them, as soon as I can get a chance (tonight or tomorrow). - have my son's graduation dinner from Primary school to attend tonight so I might run out of time tonight.

Hopefully everything is there (let me know if it isn't as I might have missed something). Has files for September and Can't stop the Feeling.
I have put in the mp3 for the omg bit at the end if you want to use it and included the audacity files which I presume should put everything together correctly if you get the actual mp3 of Can't stop the feeling (the film and radio versions of the song are the same length, same speed etc so are interchangeable if you prefer one over the other).
Link to film version in NZ itunes store (but should be same file effectively in US or Oz store) is here

At this stage I haven't shared the tree talking mp3 files as i can't quite remember where they cam from and am worried they might be copyrighted and I don't want to upset anyone (but haven't been able to find them via google search so far).

I'd like the XML for the entire thing not just the song in the middle.  I don't need the mp3's.  Or at a minimum I could use the papagayo timing tracks for the tree conversations.  Otherwise I'll have to spend a couple hours recreating it.

What you have is an edited version of the original MP3 the original one I saw a few years back out of Australia it was fantastic.. the gentleman had the standard incandescent bulbs set up into two real trees. The trees went on to start a show but did not know how to count, one started a rock song while the other argued that it was not a Christmas song.  It was seeing that clip it really got me into doing the same faces but this year only had time to do one of the two.

Yeah I heard people were doing this trolls song and I listened and wasn't really into the song but now that I saw it with Logan's animations I thought it seemed pretty cool.

I have 2 big trees so I was going to modify it so that both characters are singing together.

The talking tree conversations run as separate seqeunces between the musical ones. I have posted the trees mp3 tracks and the xml files for those talking sequences into the dropbox folder this morning so you should be able to find them there now.

All four conversation tracks are there now

( I hadn't shared them publicly initially as I wasn't sure if I would upset someone's copyright but have since been informed they were originally shared some 5-6 yrs ago on another Christmas forum quite happily by the original poster).

I think some of the Poppy eye variations are missing.  The filepath has "resized_eyes" in it but that's not included.

Poppy was a very last minute add to so I only did eyes up and eyes down for her. Didn't even bother to get her to blink (was getting a bit pushed for time by then)
The original folder where I had all the faces was called "resized eyes" hence the path name. The up and down eyes for poppy are in the dropbox folder, just mixed in with the faces.

Edit: Just remembered, I inititally did that whole sequence with the green tree singing and used the "resized folder" where I kept the eyes I resized for the green tree. Then I did a lat minute change to use Branch and Poppy and did new eyes for them (but poppy only has up and down). So I never got around to taking out of the sequence all the resized eyes images for the original green tree so that is what those are. They aren't meant to be there in the final version (ooops)

I'll add the "resized eyes" folder to the dropbox folder for those who might want to use them on their megatree if it's similar to mine (12 x50) as they looked better for the green tree. These are eyes only for the green tree though so could be used in the talking tree segments.

Yeah I did the talking tree intro yesterday.  I had to do major surgery on the graphics to get it to work for me.  I ended up creating GIF files with just the mouth and eyes by themselves and then used solid On effects to paint the colors underneath.  Otherwise the two images were not blending correctly on some of the fading.

For the main sequence I'm restructuring it to have Troll on my left tree and Poppy on the right tree.

Yes, sorry about that. My filing system for sequencing in my computer (and my head I think) is a little...... um.... chaotic  :o

So did you find that the disco ball GIF wasn't working right?  It seems like the transparency is only working in the first frame.  I checked out the file and it looks fine so I'm thinking our GIF handling code isn't working right for all frames regarding transparency.

Yes, sorry, I keep forgetting to post these things up in all the different places. I did on facebook but forgot here. I replaced the disco ball gif with the correct one in dropbox. Basically just the background I changed in Piskel to the brown hair colour of the troll in each frame and re-saved.

Want to say thank you for the Tree intro sequences. I have already used 2 of them in my show. Getting some use out of my Bruno. Tomorrow night they are calling for a snow storm here so a good time to look at another one.

Ok I probably spent 4 to 5 hours working it into my layout but I finally got it done and just added to my playlist and checked it out outside.  It was great.  I lost a bit of time because I wasn't happy with how things were looking and I realized you must have been using 25ms timing so I blew away what I had and started over.  I need to remember to use 25ms when there is talking faces.
