Title: How would I make 1/3 chase effect like that in Test Mode?

I am trying to make a simple chase like that found in the test mode of xlights, but can't seem to figure it out. I'm pretty new and hope this hasn't been covered already. Single string type application - roof outline.
All the effects that have chase like feature are symmetrical and do not seem to let you have, for example:
three reds and a white repeating or two reds and a green...

You can select 3 reds in a row in the color palette.

Oh wow, I didn't realize I could change the colors in the pallet.  I was reading the post from a few days ago about the scrolling marque with a different head/tail and saw the image.

You can also right click the colours to create colours that change over time.
