Title: Making a Morvarian Star in models
Post by: 11Bravo on December 12, 2016, 09:11:35 AM
There isn't a Morvarian star in the layout to pick from. So should I pick the 5 point star and add points to it?

How many pixels are in it and how are they arranged?  That's usually a 360 degree object so no good way to represent it.  I usually just make a flat matrix to cover the number of pixels same way I sequence my bushes.  It's not about making it look real in layout its about making effects look good on it.

Appreciate the reply Gil,  I have one bullet pixel in each of the long spikes and a few loose the cavity. I forget exactly how many but I would say 25 altogether to be safe.  At the moment, the pixels are setup as part of the mega tree and not defined in a star.  So I'm not sure it would make any different to setup a star or matrix, because the pixels blink along with what ever the tree is doing. I just thought I would ask to see what I could build for Morvarian star if I wanted to change the layout.
probably one of Bocoyo's stars would be better and brighter, than the morvarian,  but I had already bought this one before he started making them. How ever getting one of his designs could change later.
