Is there any thoughts, plans for introducing a way to test the lights through a web interface or app?
This is the only feature I like (and able to use) in Vixen 3. There is a feature where you enable a web service and then you can go to the IP address and port that you set up. Once the web page comes up you can "test" the different channels or you can play a sequence.

When you graduate to FPP for your player you will get all that functionality. it is already there and I use it all the time.

On top of what Jim said...
Testing is already way too easy. Open a sequence or create a new one. Drop an effect. Or, use the test under tools. Simple. A web app isn't going to be any better.
The developers will obviously work on what they want, but I don't see value in this.

The value in this is being out in your yard and able to test with a tablet or smartphone in your hand.
But as Jim already said. This is possible now with FPP and FPP is the way to play IMHO ;)

You can't take your laptop in the yard?
