Title: Video Record your show
Post by: alphafilter on December 31, 2016, 04:33:42 PM
What do most folks use to video record their show.  I tried my iphone and our HD Video Camera and the lights seem to be too bright for those (or I don't have a setting right) as the colors seem to just bleed out.  Any tips suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Trying to record my show before taking it down for the year.

Thanks

I struggled with this too. Best I found:

Record at dusk
Use manual focus
Use "firework" setting if your camera has it
Try different exposure settings

Phantom advanced drone on manual works pretty good. It's an excuse to buy a drone. 😀

Here's one on auto,

You sure you don't have those links reversed.  It seemed even more stable in Manual Mode.  Both look great!  I'm gonna have to find someone local to shoot mine from a drone........

Nope, they are correct. Auto/manual refers to the camera, not the drone. If memory serves me correctly it was quite windy when I shot in auto, vs manual. So, it will seem more stable.

One of the things that made a big difference this year is that I reduced the brightness on all my RGB.  I reduced my 3 pixel trees to 30% because of the close density of the nodes and reduced all other props to 50%.  Color on video is much better although my shooting is still bad.
