I have a polygon element comprising of three segments - in the shaped of an inverted U which is a border for my garage door.
I have created three segments of 20, 60 and 20 pixels .
I would like to add two segments ( 20, 20 pixels) to a group so that I can apply an effect across that group.
Is this possible at all - To add parts of an element to a group - in this case two segments out of the total three. Pls advice.
Thanks

Sure it's in your thread title....make a sub-model out of each segment you want to put in another group.

I just did this (sub grouping) -- I broke out the globes of some north poles I am adding in this year's setup. Was very easy. I wanted to be able to place effects on globes separately from the north poles themselves.

I have created sub models under the model but how do I assign the sub model to a group. I don't see such an option in the sub model set up tab.

You select it from the same list as any other model you add to a group.

Maybe you haven't upgraded. The capability to add sub-models to groups was just added in 2016.56.

Thanks. I guess I am on 55

Have upgraded to 56. However I do not still see this option for the Mac version.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170111/2f66a3b8a48b91d6814662063a776aae.jpg)

Have you ever made any groups? How did you add a model to the group? It's the same method. You don't add a sub model to a group from the sub model definition dialog you do it from the model group properties. See the attached image how the Submodel1 shows up as an option to be added to the group?
