Starting from scratch....If I was to use Xlights and a raspberry pi to run my show, what specs are required on the mac I would use? Would a Mac mini work?

xLights is built to run on OS X 10.7 and above I believe. As with anything else, the more memory and faster processor(s) you have the better.

I think it's above 10.7. My old 2006 Macbook Pro with 10.7 couldn't run the latest releases.

Opening the code in Xcode shows a deployment of 10.7. I know that did break this last year, but I thought Dan had fixed it. I haven't tried it recently on my old lap top though.

Yea.. there were a few of the third party libs that were not build properly for 10.7, but those should all be fixed now.

Would it be safe to say that a MAC mini would work?

As long as the OS is 10.7 and above, yes it will work. I can run the latest xLights (release 56) on a 8 year old Macbook under 10.7.
