I'm trying to find the right setting for the morph effect to have a smooth fade in just like it has the fade "morph" out. I'm using it for my AC controlled bushes, and i'm trying to get is smooth sweep across, instead, the morph sweeps with them going "instant on" then a blending of a fade out. I'd like it to do that for both, blend fade in and the blend fade out. Is there a correct setting to do this?

This is how I managed to get a Morph effect to fade in smoothly across some models. I had to select 3 black color swatches and 3 white (or any color you want). Keep in mind though, I'm using RGB pixels. I'm running a pre-release version of xLights so my color pallet window will look differently right now.

Looks like that was the right trick. Didn't think about having to do multiple color swatches, but hey, it works.
Thanks!

The other way is to use the layer blending tool.
leave the morph box unticked and goto the in transition and out transition tabs.
select from from the options list box (grey box)and insert the number of secs or part secs you want the effect to appear from o to 0.5 secs for example.
do this for "in" and "out" transitions .
thus you get fade in and fade out for what you want
cheers ;D Boof63

Yes, you'll get a fade in that way, but then the head of the morph will still be a instant on after the fade transition. The solution I came up with allows for the head of the morph to fade in across the entire duration of the effect. Not just the initial transition.

You set the first 2 colors to black so technically all you did was erase the head. You could have done the same thing by changing the head duration to 0%.

Yes, technically the head isn't shown. You could choose any colors for the head (first two selected colors) since the head at 0% won't show in theory. In practice I have found that there is a little blip of color at the beginning of the head during preview (even when it's set to 0%). I selected that many black color swatches in order avoid that blip of color and to force black as the lead color for the body of the morph, so that the body fades in instead of the instant on look that the OP does not want.

Fade In would work fine but I guess you folks like to do it the hard way.

Fade in only works up until the transition is complete. Doesn't solve the fact that the OP does not want the instant on look for the rest of the effect too. Having black as the lead body color for the morph creates the fade in across the entire effect. What's so hard about that?

Cause that's the way a morph is supposed to look so you guys are screwing up a perfectly good effect. Nobody ever saw a meteor go across the sky with a fade in on the head.
