Title: Megatree import skipping channels
Post by: PeteyMoon on May 02, 2017, 04:40:34 AM
I'm trying to import my megatree from LOR to xlights.  I currently have a 24 string tree setup in LOR with universes 1-12 starting from the left and going counter-clockwise then channels 17-28 starting at the right and continuing counter-clockwise behind the tree.

In trying to import sequences, I'm noticing that xlights is 'skipping' strings during the conversion (data layer import).  So if I have a 12 string tree and in LOR it's running on Universes 1-12 (channels 1-3600) and I have xlights setup exactly with those in order, the conversion is importing the sequence onto 1-3-5-7... instead of 1-2-3-4...  it looks like it's skipping a strand in between.

I've tried a bunch of things and the import keeps skipping strands.  Thoughts?  Thanks

Actually, just figured out my own issue, even though I had the universes set correctly, the channels were set in xlights for 300 each but there were only 50 strands, once I set the channels to 150 it worked
BUT....

As of now the megatree's universe 1 is at the 9 o'clock position (middle left) with universe 6 at the 6 and universe 12 at the 3 o'clock position.  When looking at the house preview, it's showing strand 1 at the 12 o'clock position (middle back) and going counter-clockwise from there.

I told xlights that the starting location was bottom left, but how do I tell it exactly where to start and go counter-clockwise from there?

Should be a rotation parameter to allow you to spin the tree in the preview.

I didn't realize that rotation was degrees, as soon as I set it to 90, I was good.  Thanks!
