Hi, I know I can go in and create a new preview etc.
However, with my setup, about 75% elements used in my Halloween layout, are also used at Christmas.
Is there a way I can create my entire layout(Christmas), and then use that same layout for a Halloween preview minus the Christmas elements/models, but have separate previews for Halloween and Christmas?
If I recall, if you set up a new preview, it will give you a blank slate. Hence I would have to layout Halloween separately from the Christmas Layout? Am I making easy hard here?
Thank You.
Best,
David

I still think it works better to just copy your rgb_effects and networks file to a "Halloween" directory. To me it is to easy to get confused on things and accidentally destroy your Christmas config while configuring Halloween and vice versa. I did say accidentally. I suspect all the developers do that as that is what they normally do when investigating someones uploaded files for debugging. Just make a new directory and switch to that directory. Easy Peezy.

Thanks Jim. I was trying to follow Keith's convention of having everything in one show folder.
I was watching his vid on importing Logan seq. He just used a home folder for everything related to his show.
He created a temp Logan folder with/in the home folder, to extract logans stuff to see it play and model names/locations.
Main reason as I understand it is to keep the images directories etc intact when importing. So, I'm completely redoing my setup to try and reflect this. I have a folder on the D: drive called XlightsShow. This is my show folder. If I create a "Christmas" and "Halloween" folder under the XlightsShow folder, and use those for the show folders "Christmas,Halloween; won't that defeat my purpose?
EDIT: OK, I think I have it worked out....I think.
I'll go rewatch the logan import, maybe I'm missing something. So, doing it your way, I would have D:\XlightsShow\Halloween, and copy the rgbeffects and network into the Halloween folder?
Thanks,
David

The only way to make a model show up on 2 previews is to change the Preview parameter for the model to "All Previews". Shouldn't take more than 10 minute to go through 100 models and it's not like an every day operation. You could just do a global search and replace in the XML if you really want to do it faster.
