Title: Test not showing changed channel information.
Post by: phlpyro on July 19, 2017, 12:31:06 PM
When changing a modles channel location the new information when saved shows correctly in the layout tab but when using "Test" the information is still the original. And the model doesn't appear to add to a sequence. Any ideas please? Paul (UK)

Every time you make major changes in the layout tab including changing Channel information on a model you should close xlights and reopen it making sure you save your changes first.

Models do not automatically add to a sequence by design.  Once you create a sequence the only way to add a model is to use the Display Elements dialog.  I'm not sure about the Test dialog since I've never used it.  I just create a blank sequence and drop effects when I need to test.

Hi both
Thanks for your help as usual as soon as you post the problem it is solved. I have identified problem of model not showing up in sequence tab. I have two views set up The Master view and a personalised view. Got confused and I must have added the model to one view and then used the other one in the sequencer. So yet again "operator error".

On the test tab I got confused as I have re mapped all my models using  the following nomenclature #5:201 etc. but in the test screen the channel information looks completely different. See screen shots attached. The channels appear to be ok in he () brackets but what are the figures in front in the [] brackets?

Thanks for your help.

The number is the brackets is the number of nodes in the model.  If you click on the arrow pointing to the right (greater than) it will open up to show those nodes which can then be turned on individually.
