Title: xLights, LOR, DMX Bridge, and Lynx Express!
Post by: Donny M. Carter on October 28, 2014, 04:23:34 PM
Need some help please! I seem to not get anything when import a LMS file in to xLIghts! I create an xLights sequence and save it. I then convert an LMS file and save, but when I output to preview or actual lights, I get no AC channels. Pixels work fine. I can go to the test tab and the lights work fine. can add a model with the corect AC channel to the xLights sequence and lights work fine. When I try it importing an LMS file, no lights! Any idea please!?

In the test tab try checking only one of the LOR boxes (16ch). I would suspect something (channels) are not right. Also make sure your LOR boxes are set to the right channels as they are hard coded. DMX-DOC.pdf explains.

I'm not using any LOR controllers. I'm using Lynx Express, which are dmx. I can go to the test tab and select the correct channels and the light fine. I can also open an xseq file and add a model with the correct channel, throw some effects in it and it will light the AC channels. Something with the conversion is where I'm messed up! I just can find it!

Dunno. I bet something is set wrong? Any errors in the conversion? I always ck Map all channels and off at the end. I just ran 15000+ channels (RGB and Lor) and 52 lms (56gig) convertions into xseq and in PREVIEW all looks fine. No errors reported.

Are you using a bridge to connect you lor controllers?

I can't answer your question, but I'm confused.  You are trying to import an LMS (LOR) file but you are apparently not using LOR equipment but Lynx equipment.  I suspect that may be part of the problem.  I am a former LOR user who moved to Lynx many years ago.  I always went thru a conversion to Vixen and got my channels all lined up for my Lynx stuff in vixen.  Eventually several years later I imported the vixen files into xlights  and all has been fine.   Seems like something is missing when you are trying to import a LOR file and immediately use it with Lynx in xlights.  That is what is confusing me.

Got it working. A single undefined channel at the beginning of the sequence was the issue!

Computer to TP-Link GigaHub to 2 more in the field. I'm going  outdoor cat5 but also this weekend setting up a wireless WDS network to see how that works. Will run on wire but if the wireless woks and there is a foot of snow on my cable and it fails, I have a backup.
