I have defined a model for some flat mini trees. 128 nodes across 2 strings, 4 strands for each string. So a total of 16 nodes up and down the tree for 8 strands. The model and node layout look fine. But when I go to sequence, the effect assist seems to believe it is 16 strands with eight nodes in each. Makes it difficult for morphs, garlands, etc. because I have to go right for up or left for down. Do I have something defined wrong? Screen shots attached. Thanks for your help.

128 nodes
2 strings 2x64-128
4 strands per string 4x16=64
You seem to be confusing numbers across your whole tree. Try the above.
Assuming that you actually have only 16 nodes per strand.

setting the nodes to 128 changes the node layout to 32 per strand. My setup is 64 nodes for each string. Then I go up 16 nodes and down 16 nodes twice for each string.

What version of xLights are you running? I just created your tree in 2017.14 64 bit and the effects assist window was correct not turned like you are showing.

I created a tree exactly like yours and the Effect Assist looks correct. The effect assist doesn't lie because it grabs the underlying buffer dimensions directly from the model. It can't be wrong.

I didn't notice this until I was working on a new sequence and trying some new things since I am still learning. I went back to previous sequences I had created and the effect assist is fine for those trees.....it's only weird in this new sequence. How can I fix this one sequence without losing the work I have already done? Create a new sequence with the same song and import the effects from the previous? Weird that this one sequence seems to be messed up. Thanks

Package the sequence and post it.

Very strange behavior. I will open a sequence and the effect assist is correct, open another and it is wrong. Then I will go back to the first one that was correct and it is wrong. I am not saving anything when I close the sequence. I have attached the one where I started seeing the effect assist not correct. Thanks for your help.

Well I learned something here. I didn't realize doing a transformation would show up in the effect assist but it does. I thought the transformation would be applied after the effect is rendered so I thought the model would report the model size before the transformation is applied but I guess not. Anyways you have those effects defined with a 90 degree clockwise rotate and that is rotating the effect assist buffer as well. See attached image.

Thanks Gil. I haven't done anything with layer settings to date as I am still learning. It ust have come from an effect that I purchased and was applied when I did the morph. I deleted all the morphs I had done and I seemed to have gotten rid of the issue. Thanks for digging into it.

Well it's not really an issue. If you rotate a buffer 90 degrees we show you the rotated buffer in the Effect Assist.
