Title: How do you control eyes in singing faces?

Here's one for the singing faces pros: Do you have any tips or tricks that would help me control when the eyes in my singing faces blink?

I haven't found a way to control the automatic blink, but...

Putting an "off" in the eye submodel for a short duration, whenever you want to have it "blink" seems to work.

I've created some test submodels but I'm having a devil of a time getting them to work.
I've created a video that (hopefully) shows what I've done to set things up. If anyone can offer more direction, I would appreciate it!

This thread is a few months old since its last activity, but after watching the mp4 video you provided it was pretty apparent what your problem is.  The solution is actually pretty straightforward.

First problem is that you are using a Mac.  All kidding aside, it's that you don't have any nodes defined for your sub-models on the Singing Bulb A.  You need to type in the actual pixel node numbers where it says line 1.  If you hover over the eyes, it will show you the number of each pixel. This is what you type in, so you should have a comma-delimited list like

83,85,90,93-97,99,100-117

Replace with those in your particular situation.  As it stands in your video, the effects placed on the sub-models don't do anything simply because no pixel ranges are defined.

Watch Keith's video on sub-models as well.  Great tutorial on how to do what you want to do properly.
