Title: Text effect box
Post by: oakridgelights on August 29, 2017, 04:01:05 PM
Not sure what's causing this.  It started today after I downloaded the new version.  It won't allow me to fully see the Start/End position tabs to make any changes to them.  Photo attached to show what I mean.

Any suggestions?

I had the same question and Gil told me they're aware of the problem and haven't figured it out yet. I found that it's the size of the font that you select that makes the upper window Go Large and squeezes out the bottom window.
Select a smaller font then adjust the whole effects settings window to force the font window to resize then you'll be able to see your start and end position window.
Then you can go back and re select your original font size and if you don't move anything the font window should stay smaller.

Ok.  Thanks! I'll try your suggestion.

I don't recall ever seeing anything like that.  The problem I've seen is easily fixed by grabbing an edge of the pane and moving it to force a re-layout.

Gil it doesn't matter how big you make the effects setting window it will squeeze out the start and end position window.
Try yourself go in and a select a font size of 72 and readjust the window.

This must be limited to the Windows build of xLights.  I don't get the same results on the Mac.

When you first select the large font it's fine until something makes the font window resize itself. It can be an event like moving the the effect setting window, installing a new version of xlights. I haven't checked which models it effects but this mainly seems to happen on a large Matrix or P10 panels. But maybe that's because that's the only time I'm trying to use large font.
When I get home tonight I can check to see if it has the same effect on a smaller model.
