Title: How to change strands/nodes in a custom model
Post by: caniac on September 22, 2017, 09:18:11 AM
Have a custom model of a singing Christmas tree (8 AC channels).  The model I am using has 9 channels with the difference being that the model I am using uses a left and right eye but I use an open eye.  How do I modify the custom model to reflect 8 channels?  I have spaced out one of the eyes and changed the other to say Open Eye.  Shouldn't these show up on the strand side and not node given I am using AC?

I'm not following.  I can't visualize what you are saying nor can I figure out why you have a 9 channel model for 8 channels.

Screen shots of your model configurations would help get an answer.

is there a preferred method to post pics, cut and paste doesn't appear to be an option.

So you need to edit the custom model data and change all the numbers to match what you built.

how and where?  Click on the model under layout and gone to strands/nodes to try and change it there but it doesn't allow editing.

You have a 9 hidden someplace in the model data.
You could open that singing face in a sequence and put in on effect on node 9 and watch for it to light up on your model preview screen.

would explain the random pixel twinkle on playback when it should be a strand.
