Title: value curve conversion issue
Post by: dkuntz on September 22, 2017, 07:12:18 PM
Opened a sequence I created earlier this year in 2017.29 and one of my effects no longer worked. I created a new sequence with an Xlights version prior to the value curve changes with just the effect that breaks, packaged it, and attached it here. The effect is marquee. The value curve is in Layer Settings, Roto-Zoom, Zoom. The values get zeroed out on conversion. Also, while I can recreate the curve and get in the ballpark to my original look I can't get the exact same look/timing. Let me know if you need anything else.

I tried it out.  While I agree the value curve did not convert properly opening the curve for Zoom and setting it back to start at 1.0 and end at 0.0 gives the exact result you had in 2017.14.

You are correct 1.0 is visibly the same. Makes sense since I believe my old value was 33 in a range of 0-100 and the the new range is 0.0-3.0. I either didn't try 1.0, or messed up one way or another in my testing. Thanks.

Yes that was the change the old curves were a percentage from 0-100 but that made it hard to increase the range without doing a conversion every time in the future and meant we had to store the range with every curve entry.  The new way we only store the actual value so the range can be changed without it impacting existing sequences.  So yes 33% of 3.0 is 1.0.
