Following the second half of this video (https://vimeo.com/161138441) to import from HLS into xLights. It happens very quickly after I map everything (I did notice the names in the mapping window seem to chop off what is in HLS), but nothing is there (or the whole line is black) after rendering.
Now, if I import as a data layer then it all seems to come in, but then I can't edit the effects (without converting each one).
Anyone aware of what I might be doing wrong on the import?

Spoke a little too soon...upon further review of the data layer input there is some channel shifting, but guessing that may be somewhere in the configurations between xlights and HLS....which is another reason the import and mapping window would be handy here.

Importing from HLS is flawed unfortunately. All effects goto node level and you cant edit, only delete them.
Would suggest using the HLS version as the visual template then recreate in XL afresh.
At least that's what i had to do. The new AC effects allow you to do chases, fill , ramps etc at the node level as per HLS, this works very well and can give you some of the effects that you can generate in HLS.

I haven't looked at the HLS code in a long time... I don't even have any of my hlsIdata files available anymore to test this. :(
Any chance you could create a couple of small HLS files that I can use to test? Probably couple of ons and ramps and such that would be easy to spot.

Sure. Attached is a sequence I run just to test all the channels in my show. It has some colors for RGB, some ramps, some fades, some chases. It is 1 minute long.

I was playing around with converting to different formats and importing and I found that converting my HLS file to LOR and then trying to import has wierd control codes in some of the channel names. I edited the file and took the control codes out and then the import would run and I actually got data in....The problem is here it breaks apart the RGB channels which doesn't really work to get the data in correctly. Anyway, just thought I'd post this bit of information in case it helps figuring out what is wrong.
I've attached two lms files (one with the control codes and one that I fixed) and the original hls export file.

This doesn't have any data in it at all.

Using the original hlsIdata file, I was able to pull in the singing faces and the RGB floods just fine. The data is there. Thus, I'm not sure what issue you are having.

As a data layer or with the import feature?
I can get it in as a data layer, but the channel mapping is off, but the import does nothing at all....well it says it did it, but nothing id there.

Yeah I don't get what everyone is saying doesn't work. I just used that Nightmare on my Street hlsldata file and did an Import Effects and just mapped as a test the "Face 1 - Bottom Lip" channel and it imported some effects in at the model level.
So do you have a mapping file that maps all your HLS channels in that file to your xLights models? If so share the mapping file so we can test it. I don't feel like mapping a ton of channels when I don't have the destination models.

I only use the import functionality. I've never used the data layer stuff so I'm not sure how I'd even reproduce that. I can import the hlsIdata, map the floods onto my floods (I happen to have 4 as well), and the data appears.
I've attached the screen shots.

Hmm... After your previous post I Thought I'd play around with some of the older versions to see if maybe it was a version issue, but now all seems to be working all the way up through the latest release....So, thanks for the help! :)
No idea what may have been wrong, but guess there was some issue with my install. Will go through imports of several tonight, but so far things are looking good.
Thanks all!
