Title: Hyper scheduler
Post by: Ken Collins on October 14, 2017, 12:59:15 PM
Testing the scheduler, and seems the sequences a little hyper. Run a little fast. Thought I had read something about that in the forums earlier this year, but can't find the post.
Running 32, and on a tugboat in the middle of the Pacific, trying to beat a weather system so I can get home and start set-up. Anybody else experience over caffeinated sequences?

You will need to be more specific about what you mean. Are the lights running fast? Is the audio running fast? Does it happen all the time or only some of the time? Do you have two sequences scheduled at once?

The only issue I am aware of (and you will see a warning in the log if it happens) is when two audio files of different sample speeds are loaded for playing at once one of them will win and the other will play slow or fast. If this happens then you basically need to resample the audio. But look for the warning first. Failing that send us an xschedule log after it happens.

Thanks Keith, I just was experimenting with the scheduler, built a playlist in advance mode, some sequences have video files associated  with the sequence, the quick audio button checked, and hit the play all button. Listen to it and it sounds like it's playing fast, and the audio went up in pitch.  Stays in sinc with the video as far as I can tell. Don't have any controllers or anything else plugged in. Tried several sequences in the playlist, all seem a little fast. Thought I'd throw this out there, and I'll re-visit when I get on dry ground. Service out here is real limited and spotty.
Thanks for the input though.

I'm having a similar issue. The last two days my show sounds like it is playing at 1.5 speed. I ended up deleting my playlist and schedules rebooting the computer and creating a new playlist and schedule. On Monday it worked the first time, last night I had to rebuild and reboot 3 times before it played at the correct speed. Not sure what it could be, it's worked great since Thanksgiving.

If you are preloading audio I would turn that off.

Happened again tonight, if you mean deselect fast start audio, i tried that and it didn't appear to make a difference.

Tonight instead of rebuilding the playlist and rebooting I restart the schedule multiple times until it played at the right speed. I just looked at the log file and found the following warning. [WARN] Playing multiple audio files with different sample rates with play at least one of them at the wrong speed.

Hmmm one fix is to resample your songs with the same sample rate. I did think this only happened if your songs were loaded at the same time which I thought only happeneded when you did fast start audio.

Resample the songs seems to have worked. Thx Keith
