Title: Dimming curves / gamma adjustment
Post by: jlowe on October 26, 2017, 06:52:08 PM
I have searched the forum all over. I find posts with people talking about adjusting those items, but no clear answer on what the values should look like for rgb. Or, could anyone tell me the format of a dimming curve file? Like, what values should be entered into it? How should it be formatted?

Thanks!

Most people don't change them at all

Some suggest a gamma of 2.0 is more realistic but others complain it screws some colours up.

Dimming is easier just select the -Ve number that dims the model enough for you.

I set my gamma to 2.0 and my oranges (pumpkins) look much better.

I found this site based on some searching around, which talks about the gamma adjustment specifically for 2812 pixels. Thought I would plug in these values to make a custom curve, but I can't figure out how to do it. If all else fails, I will try the gamma 2 value.

The gamma value he seems to be using is 2.22 or 1/0.45.

Ahh, I saw 1/0.45 and my mind just read Greek. Thanks for helping me out.
