You're going to probably get several different answers.
I think the best way to back up your computer and sequences is with a portable hard drive or large thumb drive depending on how much room you need.
Once you have everything backed up you can disconnect it so there's no way that it can be corrupted or damaged from anything going on with the computer.
You can you also use Google Drive Dropbox or any of the other cloud services out there as well.

The only best way is to pick something and make sure you use it. All the other choices are personal preferences. Personally I use a thumb drive and also copy everything to both my desktop and my laptop and even occasionally to my wife's desktop in the kitchen so that I can show her what I am working on.
Your choices are many JUST DO IT.

Don't forget about Dropbox and Google drive. You can even use them as your show directory.

Didn't realize you could put your directory in those places. Would this be a good method to allow multiple people to collaborate on a project, since they're all using the same files?

I generally would not suggest you make your drop box your show folder.
1. We put huge fseq files there that you just don't need to duplicate
2. We have no awareness that it is shared so we won't detect or resolve conflicts
3. Users in the past have complained of performance impacts when doing so.

I've heard of files getting corrupt when using the cloud. I use the cloud to backup files, but I don't work straight from the cloud. As Keith said, no use to backup files that xlights can easily create, like fseq.

Under settings I use "backup on launch" or you could use "backup on save" then I just save the "on start" files to a jump drive. Saved me once.

Ok.. Answer me this. I used to open up my sequences and on the top it used to say.. This PC > Videos. And my sequences that I've done would be there to pick from. Now it says.. This PC> Videos > Backup > 2017-07-08013840. Then i have to press the video icon and my sequences come up.
My guess i pressed something earlier when i was tryn t to set up my scheduler. Even an old layout that i had to redo is coming up and my pixles are all off. Im sure if i go back and press sumthing real simple it still fix but I'm scared to lose the 7 songs that I've completed. So now i sit here debating if i should back up what i have now then try to mess with it so it wont b a total loss.
