Title: Xlights music sync?
Post by: pmbarber on November 08, 2017, 07:53:57 PM
Hi everyone, noob here. Just clarifying can Xlights sync pixels to music beats like LOR or is it primarily just for effects? If not what program would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Most effects can be associated with music beats, amplitude etc.

It is a little late in the year to be picking up on a new sequencer though, JMHO.

See the vu Meyer effect. Also consider the vamp plugins.

Yes it is a little late in the season. Just decided in mid October to go RGB pixels this year. Spent the last couple weeks learning about pixels, controllers, channels, universes, power injection, null pixels....omg!! I agree it doesn't leave much time to learn Xlights and all it has to offer. This late in the game, would it be better to get a few shared sequences and convert to my setup? That would give me all next year to get more familiar with sequencing and Xlights. Thoughts please.

Best thing you could do is hop on Wednesday zoom and listen and learn while you work. Ask questions when you need to.

The other thing would be to become part of the dynamic discussion on the FB group as well. Then start by scrolling back in time. There are a lot of newbie questions being posted there and the answers would benefit you considerably.
