Lets use this thread to accumulate effects you would like to see incorporated into The Nutcracker.

These can be effects you have seen in someone elses show. If you can include a video link and tell me the effect and the timing mark in the video.

There has been threads in other forums gathering new effects people would like to see

i would love if someone would pull the requests from these threads into a spreadsheet or something.

feel free to ask for anything

thanks

I put two enhancement requests into github:

Nutcracker Feature Request: Sampling
https://github.com/smeighan/nutcracker/issues/68 (https://github.com/smeighan/nutcracker/issues/68)

Enhancement: new effect implementing xLights test mode look
https://github.com/smeighan/nutcracker/issues/70 (https://github.com/smeighan/nutcracker/issues/70)

Wouldn't github be easier than a separate spreadsheet or file?

Sean, I'm happy to keep an eye on those forums and compile any requests that I see on the Google docs spreadsheet that I started for the Facebook X/NC groups. I am going to add some additional tags in the spreadsheet to enable finer grouping of requests.

Steve, while I agree that github is a great place to capture requests, it doesn't seem easy to group and categorize them. My suggestion is to use the spreadsheet is to capture all the input in one place (with pointers to  the source request). Once sorted, these could be placed in github if that's what the dev team prefers.

While I am reluctant to open up the spreadsheet to everyone to directly input their requests, I could post a view-only link in this thread, so people could look at what's been requested. I could probably also add a page for people to vote for request.

For your consideration. I'm happy to do whatever folks feel would works best.

I would love to see something for push button show starters, or more high tech ways of starting the show.

This post is 3 years old.

And what you are after already exists. See video on xlights where an arduino with buttons controls the scheduler.

Well that's embarrassing. Thanks for telling me.
