Title: Proper Workflow - XL to LOR
Post by: gadgetGuy on November 22, 2017, 12:34:34 PM
I wanted to use Xlights for everything but I'm using Easy Light Linkers and based on my research, my LOR controllers must be wired in.  ( if I'm wrong, then discard the rest)

I want to try to edit my LOR/AC props and my Pixels, and dumb RGB in Xlights, then import them into LOR so I can run my shows using LOR.

I've tried my best to find the answers but to no avail.
1. Are my options still just:  a. Export as LMS, b. Export as a LOR Clipboard ?

Also,

2. When I export, does the 'view' I'm seeing affect the order of the channels in the exported file ?
3. Does the channel configuration in LOR have to be identical to XL?
(example.  LOR: Chan 1 is Bushes and XL: Chan 1 is Bushes)

Sincerely,
Michael K

I asked on Facebook and it sounds like some users have controlled stuff from xLights with Easy Light Linkers involved.  I think you must have the first output defined as a LOR output so it uses the LOR protocol to a LOR USB dongle.

For moving data to LOR if you export as LMS yes you need an exact channel match.  If you are using a clipboard the only thing that probably matters is that the start corner and zig zag settings match between the two programs for that model.

there is a third way to get from xlights to LOR. Right click on a model and export as an avi file. This is especially useful on large rgb node models like megatrees.

So if you want to bring it in so you can edit it in LOR , LMS or LCB. I believe LCB is more flexible since you can paste it aynwhere

If you have megatrees or matrices i would use the avi movie method

Thank you both !
I will try making the first LOR controller a wired in,  instead of being started with a ELL
