Title: xl v xschedule
Post by: Boof63 on December 10, 2017, 05:18:29 AM
i have a tree  8 strings x 50 pix x 2 strands, in Xlights outputto lights songs play ok and effects are spot on
Use xschedule and effects are scrambled, other tree no problems.
Controller is Advatek Pixlite 16 Long range for this tree only.
All songs have been rendered to death, xl setup changed to 16 x 25 x 1+ zig zag at 25 - closer but still scrambled.
Any ideas please , tried chatt on ACL and that helped , but only found out about the difference between XL direct and XL sched. after shutting down show and playing to try and sort this out.
 HELP!!!!!
Cheers and thanks inadvance

Have you run check schedule. Are you on the latest version .40

running version .40, check sequence showed render in canvas not erase mode, changed and rendered again. same result xl plays great. xschedule scrambles..
tried a new text file and same result, xl played directly from output lights = ok, use xsched and scrambled.
have deleted fseq to see if that fixes - same scrambling.
i am stumped

But why didn't you run check schedule.

I ran check sequence as asked and it showed I was in canvas mode for rendering not erase mode. Reset to erase mode and re rendered . Text file was done in new rendering setup and still same result.
I have not run check sequence on text file seq. as had to go to work and didn’t think it would show anything. So will run when I get home. But otherwise any ideas if no error shows?

hi again , no major hiccups with Xschedule - Check Schedule.
only listing for repeats of start and finishes for each show
Log file is below
So nothing i can see that explains the scrambling of the effects for this tree.
Cheers Boof63

First 6 strings play correctly, next 12 are scrambled

Checking schedule.

The error message is right there - your show directories don’t match. That error is fatal. As long as that is true XLights and xschedule are extremely likely to produce different results.

Hi keith, thanks for your help changed schedule to main show folder not the subfolder where fseq were hiding and it works. Honestly not sure why? i was thinking it wrong as usual and so a BBBIIIGGGGG thanks. and hope us fools don't drive you to drink.
Is there any point in setting up sticky for us peeps to follow when we have problem?
ie Check sequence, check xschedule , check for overlaps etc,
a basic repair kit before we bother you ,gil, dan and the other gurus!!!
Cheers
