I am trying to use the Piano effect for the 1st time and can't seem to get it working correctly. I created a Polyphonic Transcription timing and have tried using MIDI's from a range of 20-99. In all cases, when I play the music, nothing happens on the displayed piano keyboard. The keys show up correctly on the model preview, but nothing ever happens during the song. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If you figure out how to use it make us a demo video.

What type of model are you using it on? How many colors do you have applied to it?
I've gotten Piano to work for my display, but it did take some effort.

Thank you BWINTER and GILROCK for your replies. I have figured it out with a bit of help from the folks at AusChristmasLighting.Com. After signing up to their site, I was able to find a document entitled "Piano Effect in XLights.DOC" It gave me enough info to figure out what was wrong and get the piano effect running properly.

saw the topic was about to offer help then saw you'd found my piano effect guide, glad it was of help.
it's a nice effect, used sparingly

Does this document exist on the xlights forum, or is there anyway we could get it re-posted here?

Thanks for the write-up. This is the portion that I struggled with understanding the most (especially difficult if you're not working on a full-blown matrix):
gap colour, as per this chart:
1st colour = White keys
2nd colour = Black keys
3rd colour = White key depressed
4th colour = Black key depressed
5th colour = gap between white keys (this isn’t necessary)
I also found it very helpful for studying the conversion-chart between nodes and MIDI# (which you've also included in your write-up).
