I would like a switch for text that says, "play this one time only", no matter how long the text box is.
Possibly, perhaps a counter that says, "play this x-number of times".
Also, perhaps a switch asking for the system to figure the speed of the text to use the whole text box.

I don’t understand this request. Are you talking about the text effect or scheduler. And I am not sure even if you clarified that I understand what you are trying to achieve.

I'm assuming he means that when you scroll the text effect it will end and start repeating again based on the length of the effect on the grid. Sometimes its hard to figure out where to shrink the effect to for only one scroll. I run into this also and you have to keep adjusting and playing to figure out if you've gotten the length perfect.

I just put a bunch of spaces at the end of the word to make for a larger margin of error to end the effect.

Sorry Keith. The scheduler doesn't exist for us since we use FPP.
What I mean is, put a text effect on a prop. Put in a line of text to be shown in the effect parameters. We want that line of text to be shown only one time through. Even if the text box is longer than the time it takes to show the text, we do NOT want it to repeat.
Gil has it correct. Right now you have to try to get the size of the text area to match the time it takes for the text to play, without going any further. A simple, "show this text only 1 time" is what we are trying to achieve.

Yeah we need to think about a good solution. Maybe a number of repeats option and then we could reverse calculate the speed required.

I like that! What can I do to help?

I like that idea as well Gil
