Her is the problem I have;
I bought a AlphaPix 16 channel controller from Holidaycoro. It is working flawless in LOR. I have now started playing wit xLights to redo some of my sequences for next year. The AlphaPix controller is set up for 12 pixel strips on a 16 ch. controller. Channels are assigned as follows
strip 1 unv. 2
strip 2 unv. 3
strip 3 unv. 4
Strip 4 unv. 5
Strip 5 unv. 6
Strip 6 unv. 7
Then strips 7&8 are skipped
Strip 9 unv. 8
Strip 10 unv. 9
Strip 11 unv. 10
strip 12 unv. 11
Strip 13 unv 12
strip 14 unv. 13
Strip 15& 16 are blank
So when I set up xLights fro a 12 strip(string) pixel tree it wants to use unv 2-13 how can i assign unv. numbers to strips 7&8,15&16?

Use the "Indiv Start Channels" feature.

So strip 7& 8 being blank & not used can be assigned unv. 14 & 15. Then strip 16&17 which are also blank can be assigned unv. 15&16. That way I have 4 more unv. to be used on other display items. If I am wrong please correct me.
Thanks Mike
Universe 1 is my DMX setup so this controller strats on Unv. 2

I don't get it. You said you have a 12 strip tree so all 12 strips need to be assigned channels. Are you confusing outputs with strips?
-
aii 12 are assigned 1-6 on Unv 2-7 & 9-14 on unv. 8-13 I am calling thm strips but yes they are really outputs.

So
strip output 7& 8 being blank & not used can be assigned unv. 14 & 15 (whatever universe you want within the alphapix requirements). Then strip 16&17 output 15&16 which are also blank can be assigned unv. 15&16 (same as above). That way I have 4 more unv. to be used on other display items (think the alphapix can use 32 universes) . If I am wrong please correct me.
I do not have an alphapix but will assume it is similar to what I have

Just create a normal megatree in xLights with a single start channel then change the setup page in the controller.

If you want exact values then post some screenshots of controller setup, xlights setup, and xlights layout for the model.
