I am going to run two E682s this year for my RGB megatree and my six RGB arches. I plan to have the E682s "under" the megatree then run the pixel output signals out to the arches, using null pixels on those pixel outputs.
If I understand correctly, I need to connect my show PC to a switch/router, then send two cat5 outputs from the switch to the two E682 controllers. Am I thinking about this correctly? Or will I need to get a "bridge" to multiply the outputs to the multiple E682s?
Thanks!

A switch is all you need and different IP addresses on each E682. Unicast is recommended.

How many LEDs on your megatree?
I have 1200 on mine and run 12 strands of 100, folded at 50 for 24 legs. I use 12 ports on the E682 and have 4 free for other items. No power injection needed with the WS2811 pixels I got from Ray.

Thanks. Info appreciated!!! I used multicast last year with my E682 but I can look into unicast. As I remember it's not rocket science choosing multicast or unicast...

Or, if you could put your switch in a box with one of your 682's. If it's 5v, you can power from the 682.

Thanks Dave. That's what I was thinking about doing. I figured that is a pretty easy way to address this concern. One Ethernet out to the switch, then <10' runs to two E682s and one Renard SS24 and one ~20' run to a Renard SS16

Now that I ALMOST have my megatree assembled (wow did I every underestimate that....), I am thinking about driving my Renard SS16 & SS24. Can I go "directly" from my PC to a switch (as mentioned earlier in these posts), then just have two of the cat5 runs going to each Renard? Or do I actually have to use my E682 as a "bridge"? I will have plenty of capability in my E682s, but I figured if I could drive the Renards "directly" that would be the best way to go.
Thanks.

My mega tree with 6811 pixels are crashing when output-ing white. 682 controllers, 12 v 25 amp power. 16 strands with 50 . Any tips
