Title: New sequence will not finish rendering 2018.2 W10 PC
Post by: danj on January 16, 2018, 08:01:19 PM
Running 2018.2 on W10 laptop.   Trying to start a new sequence.   When I setup some timing marks and drop some effects over about 20 seconds, the sequence will render but it takes about 30 seconds.   When dropped effects over about a 50 second time period, the render never finished.   I opened up some 2017 files and rendered them and they worked fine; no issues.

I attached my xml files for this sequence.   Should I roll back to 2017.45 and see if that helps with this file?
Thanks in advance.

It does finish but it is slow. THe problem is the liquid effect on tree 3 at 31.2 seconds ... those parameters are killing you.

Thanks Keith.   I had just set some random effects to check out my timing marks; my usual starting point.   I appreciate the help!!!!!

Yeah. The new random function is aggressive and the liquid effect while powerful can have some pretty demanding processing if you set the slider to a bad combination.

I hadn't thought about this before--probably a better method of "checking my timing marks" is to use the VU meter effect.   I will just do that from now on as my "standard check" method!   Thanks again, Keith.
