Hello,
I've made a 360 degree, 36 string megatree this year and have it configured in xlights but string one seems to be the string directly in the back as viewed from the street. I've read on how to change the location of string one, but it seems no matter what I do, I can't get string 1 to be the one directly in front of the street (180 degrees from where it is now). I've changed the start location from bottom left to bottom right, changed model rotation to 180 degrees, but it seems even after I render it with the changes, string one is still in the back. Anyone know of a way to change the location of string one like I'm looking to do? Thanks for any help.

I thought the rotation parameter in the TreeModel would do that. Are you just talking about what you see in preview or what you see on the real thing in the yard? In the yard string1 is going to be wherever you wire it up.

pretty much just in the preview. I know it's somewhat silly to worry about that but it's just that I'm doing some things with individual strings/blocks and it would be easier to just see it in preview that way. I'll keep tinkering and see if I can find the right combo. Thanks for the reply and I'll let you know if anything I try works out.
woah. actually I just noticed when I did the 180 rotation, it did it about the vertical axis and put the tree upside down. lol.

Yeah you're doing the wrong rotation parameter. Use the one higher up where you define the string count.

I would STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend keeping the first string as the one in the back for a 360 string. Most effects assume that is the case and will display very strange if that's not the case. Also, if you import sequences from others, they will also likely assume that the first string is in the back. (or far left for a 180 tree)

oh. Thank you very much for the heads up. I guess I'll leave it as is and just make string one the one in front when I assemble it. Thanks again for the replies.

You mean the "one in back" so it will work.

I think you need to adjust your thinking. String 1 around the tree to string 36 (immediately left of 1) should not be the target of your special effects. target strings 10-28 for your front special effects. remember that "the seam" is going to be between 1 and 36. you should leave that in the least noticeable location in your yard.
