Hi,
First off, I am trying out XLights and doing a 2 week headdive into it, as I am trying to see if this software is better than Vixen 3, which I have been using for 3 years now. So far it is going great and I almost have converted my entire setup to XLights, but now I have an issue which i need help for. I have a door where the wiring looks like this:
So the green section is clock wise and is my starting point, but then my purple section is reversed, until it reaches the middle. So to put the sections in order:
- Buttom (green)
- Left (green)
- Top (purple) [REVERSED]
- Right (purple) [REVERSED]
- Center(purple)
The reason for this design was that the wire would start and end in the same corner, so the door is operational even with the lights attached.
I have problem figuring out the best way to set this up in the Layout and how to map the controller in XLights. The green section has 76 lights, and the purple has 96, where the last 20 is not reversed. I have to keep my groups below 100 lights per Universe, because of the way I use my Falcon players with extension boards.
If you believe that a redesign of the door is the best way, I will do that, but if this can be done via software, then I would solve another problem that I have with with my singing figures.
Thank you so much for any advice you can give.

xLights is really easy and flexible to create what you need. Easiest way to explain is to just make a video:

There are a lot of concepts covered in this and if you stop the video short at least look at the tip I give in the last 30 seconds

Oh my god Gilrock, what a beautiful way of responding. Thank you so much! Im lovin' xlights more and more!

Thanks Gil.
I was unaware of the ability to have a ghost segment (length of 0). That opens up a whole new area for me.
The hint about changing the render buffer is also so welcome!
