Title: Lights flickering in NC/X-lights
Post by: ktrbmn12 on November 18, 2014, 12:11:33 PM
When I create a sequence in X-lights and play it in X-lights all my RGB lights flicker. When I convert that sequence to LOR and play it in LOR no lights flickering. I had the same issue last year and just ran my show through LOR. This year with more RGB lights I want to play it through X-Lights. Any suggestions

Give more details on your config and observations.

When you create the sequence and it has 500 channels, do all 500 channels flicker?

Do they flicker only during the playback? Do they flicker when you F3 test an effect with Output to lights enabled?

My RGB lights were doing a very strange flicker after several months of good testing. It was the new Belkin switch that was the issue. I power cycled the switch and the flicker went away.

I have 4 682 boards. All Rgb channels flicker and also during testing too. I have a Belkin switch. But I have it hooked up from my computer to the 682 board with no switch and the same flickering happens

The first video show the lights flickering using Xlights, the second is the same sequence converted and run by LOR

Be sure to "unload" LOR (just closing it isn't enough; you must kill the Command window since it is sending out the E1.31 data) or it may be sending data at the same time as xlights.

Check your computer and make sure you've got only one instance of xLights running.

It is possible to have 2 instances running. If one is set to do nothing but output to lights is selected you will get that exact flicker problem when you play a sequence on the second instance.

It's even possible to run 2 different versions of xLights at the same time, something NOT recommended.

Only 1 xlights program is running. I have 3 different laptop that I have tried this with and the same issue on all including a new core5 Flickering lights using xlights, no flicking converted to LOR.

You can't just close Lor you have to unload it, right click on the red bulb in your tray and scroll down to where it says unload Lor and then try your seq again in xlights.
