Title: Adding multiple audio sound tracks
Post by: KAS on July 09, 2018, 04:02:13 PM
Hello, I am very new to X-lights and need a little help.
I'm just playing to try and learn the system and so I created a Tree in sequencer with a sound track and multiple effects.  I want to now add another sound track at the end of the first.  Can I add it directly in or do I save and create a separate sequence and then schedule them together in scheduler?  I've watched several videos but none seemed to address this.
Thank you
KAS

IMHO it is always best to make a separate sequence for each song.  They open, close, upload, and edit faster and are much smaller in size than making one long song.  The players, either FPP or xschedule will play them one right after the other as though it was one long show.

Thanks Jim, I appreciate the help and will go that direction.

I agree with Jim.

The only time you would want to create a longer track is if you are going to fade from one to the other, which in lighting doesn't seem that necessary.  But it is your choice.

Once again, Jim's reasoning is spot on.

Don’t forget as well you will be listening to the songs every night. With single songs you can at least change the order of play, even not play a single song on different nights.  One long track your locked in and praying for the night to end. 😀
