I haven't noticed this until recently and maybe it is the way the program has always functioned. There are many times that I will preview a sequence and the lights will not show correctly. If I render the sequence, it will fix the problem. I can render a sequence and exit the program and the next time I open the program, I have to render the sequence before it will play correctly. This will sometimes happen in the middle of sequencing a song.
Has it always been this way?
Thanks for all of your hard work that you put into this!

XLights is always rendering changes in the background. Depending on effect and model size some can take a while to render and may not look right until it is done.
When you exit make sure you save as this ensures the rendered data is available next time you open it.

I can save and render the file and the next time I open it up, it won't play correctly unless I render it again. This will also happen in the middle of a sequence. Also, I am getting a message that version .25 is available but when I try to update, nothing happens. I attached a video showing both issues.

Isn't there a setting that tells xLights to only save the XML and not the FSEQ data file? The FSEQ file with the same name as your sequence XML file is where that data is stored. Find that file on your drive and see if its being updated. You should see a file size or modification date change. You can also delete the file and it should be recreated after another render/save. For the update I'd just wait a day.

I couldn't find a setting to not save the FSEQ file but wouldn't the Render All button still save the FSEQ file? I think the problem is that it isn't creating the FSEQ file. I do not see a FSEQ file for the sequence and there is now a strange folder in my show directory called Hippo_RENDER_CACHE (My sequence is Hippo)
The status bar indicates it is creating the Hippo.fseq file, but it isn't in the folder
*I was able to get the FSEQ file created by selecting the Save FSEQ on Save option.

Yeah then you turned off that option because its on by default. Render all never creates any files. Files are only created or updated when the user does a Save operation.

Well I'll update that statement to say it might create some caching files but that's a brand new feature as of last release.

OK, Thanks!
