I wasn't sure where to ask this so I put it here.....If it's the wrong place I beg forgiveness... ;D
I've noticed that one of the recent updates (not sure when it started exactly) began placing a sub folder in my NC/XL folder that's titled as a Render Cache....
Do I need to retain that once I finish the sequence or can I delete....to unclutter the top level folder?
Thankx

You only need to retain it if you are using the caching to speed up rendering. Deleting it just causes xlights to do more work recreating it later. You won’t lose anything.

Thanks for the explanation Keith... Now for a REALLY dumb question....how do you know if you're using the caching or not? Is there a way to enable/disable caching? I have a couple of sequences that probably could use a boost in render speed.....

First you have to make a guess. Where would you look first for Settings?

Busted....LOL... :-[
I'm guilty of not keeping up.....but my question was really just a knee jerk thinking out loud type question and I typed it before thinking... As soon as you mentioned it I realized I hadn't thought before opening mouth and inserting foot!
You guys have put so much into the software at such a rate that have trouble keeping up.... I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't use a fraction of what's possible....my bad...I promise to do better in the future....
Does Sean still post videos of new releases like he did early on? I haven't seen any in a while and I used to be able to watch those and keep up a lot better than just trying to read the release notes that usually go right over my non techie head....but watching a demonstration of the updates sank in..... But I'm sure with the rate of upgrades it's almost impossible to do videos for all of them....

Every feature is covered in a release video

Yes Keith has done a video that covers all the changes from every release and he usually covers a block of release per video. He doesn't advertise his video everywhere. I believe its only advertised in the Facebook group but they should all be available at videos.xlights.org.

Oh.....I had no idea.... I'm not much of a fan of Facebook but maybe I can find them on the Xlights site.... I hadn't even looked there..... Good to know.
Thanks Keith for doing those. I need to get caught up!
