Title: xSchedule64 Output to lights
Post by: colonelcline on September 20, 2018, 04:05:02 PM
Everything works with LOR, Advatek controller tests. But in xSched I get no output to the lights. All else works, boards are green, Output to Lights button is on, music, just no lights. All wired on same network. I'm at a loss.

If I make a sequence in xlights and save, all is fine. If I convert an LMS to fseq they do not play. If I look at sequence settings, XL says it is an animation. I can change it to media but only get music, no lights. FPP does the same thing- no lights. LMS Convert worked fine last year.  Did something change I missed?

You could install the old version you said was working and see if it still works.  Its easy to install many versions of xLights side-by-side just type in a new directory name on the install screen.  I usually name it with the version number.

I found a 2015 show of fseq's , and they play fine in xSchedule. I believe Convert LMS is broke. I will try to step back the versions to find where it broke. I'm old and busy so it may take awhile. <g

Are you trying to do this from LOR S5?
I thought I read that the S5 broke a lot of the conversion.

I don't think we changed it we don't like spending any time on that.

I stepped it up from 14 to 33 and now it works. Guessing I had something wrong in one of the xml's that got fixed along the step up? Anyway, never mind.

The problem for me is in the xlights.xschedule file. The current version does not output to lights and an older version does. So not the convert process. I peeked at the 2 files (attached) and did some editing to see what was breaking it but had no luck. May be something else too or just my setup especially if no one else is having a problem.

I need to see the xschedule log after a failed attempt to play. Also run check schedule.

What is breaking the light output is the background playlist. If I delete or uncheck the background playlist, output is fine. Add or check a background and only the background plays altho the lights are not right (only half the matrix shows.)

Background playlists overwrite the main show. So typically you would restrict the channels the background playlist is allowed to update. Click the checkbox and enter start channel and number of channels.

Yes, that works. Sorry I missed that instruction.
