Title: View question
Post by: Swedge on September 26, 2018, 07:11:57 PM
I'm not understanding how views are specific to sequences. When sequencing a song, I want to create views based on voices and instruments but they seem to be common across all sequences. How do set up my show directories to use a common network but separate views?

There are no views specific to sequences.

Those that have associated views and sequences are segregating the items that they are using for a specific sequence from the overall number.  It is something you have to figure out as to how you want to work. We have started creating a view for each sequence because we don't use every item in every sequence.  The specific view will only have what we use for that sequence.  There is no requirement (as has been said here.)

One thing that has actually turned into a blessing are the views we create for generic items.  "All Singing Faces", "All Standing Trees", "All matrices."  Makes it much easier to work on specific areas of the show.

You don’t need views to leave models out of a sequence. That is what the master view is for.
