Within the effect settings the update button F5 key doesn't work. Clicking on the button works but pressing the F5 key on the keyboard doesn't. I just went through updating some of the effects that has new rendering. Lots of clicking and mouse movements.
I'm running version.2018.42 64bit
Thanks
-
You're right. We should remove the "(F5)" text from the button.
-
It would be nice if it did work. It would cut down on mouse movements. I had over 100 effect render updates and it took forever. F5 key would of cut that time down.
-
I have never pressed that button. Why do you need to do it so often?

I opened couple sequences from last year and was having some strange issues so I ran the check seq and it had shockwave, strobes, and another effect that needed updated for the new render. So I had to go through my entire sequence and click on every effect and then click on the update to get the new render.
-
Yeah hitting the Render All button in the toolbar would have been quicker. Do you know what that Update button is for? It does anything if you have multiple effects selected it will make the settings for every selected effect match the primary selected effect.
-
The render all didn't update them that was the first thing I did was render all and ran the check seq again and the same elements needed update. The only thing that took care of it was the update button
-
Effects are supposed to auto-upgrade. We have code built in for every effect to bring it up to date when you open a sequence. There were times where we said you have to first open the sequence in an older intermediate version if it was so old it needed a double upgrade. I've never heard of anyone hitting update on every effect. What did the message say in the log?
-
Dont we hit the update button for the value curve message? (only for those flagged in the check sequence log)

I tried what it said and didn't update. then tried render all, nothing, then someon on the facebook group mention about clicking on the update and I tried it and then noticed it cleared that error. had to do that for every error.
-
I had one sequence that had 760 errors about contains very old value curve, manually had to update each one.
-
If you still have a copy with errors ping it to me and I will see what I can do to minimise this.

I've finished that seq but I can send you a backup copy before all the updates.

Has there been a quick fix to correct the error message "ERR: Effect contains very old value curve", being generated on doing a check sequence. I have a some sequences that I purchased that the errors are in the thousands.
Thanks
-
As of right now, it's up to awesome developers to resolve it. I had to manually fix each error. painfully slow process.
-
You can send it to me and I will take a look but no promises. There are some vendors who don’t want there stuff sent to us.

Yeah as far as it stands now its out of our hands because I never saw any files posted.

Sean sent me a request to send the file to him last night. so he is looking into it. thanks

That would have been Keith not Sean. All posts notification emails from this forum appear to come from "Sean Meighan" and that's due to the way settings are on the forum. I used to like it when the emails looked like they came from xLights. If you look up at the quick navigation bar when you are inside a post you will see the root name is "Sean Meighan" so whatever that name is defines the name for the emails.
-
Also if all you did was reply to Keith's post then the file might not have made it to him. Did you private message Keith?
-
yes, I did PM Keith.
-
I didn’t receive anything from anyone.

Keith i sent the file to your hotmail account.

Sean did reach out to me and said that the errors in the sequence should not effect anything. so i believe we are good. Thanks

I clicked on about 300 of 1500 error "pinwheels" that showed the "old value curve" error.
While it reduced the error count, it has helped render time noticeably. (Meighan import sequence)

You should have sent it to me. When people send those things I can add a fix that sorts them now.
