Reading the posts, I can't tell if this feature was added back to xLights or not.  Can you save color palettes?  If so, how?

What do you mean "added back"?  I don't know of it ever being removed.  The ability to save and load color palettes is all right there on the Color Panel.  Use the buttons and drop-down to the right of the swatches.

Sorry for being unclear.  There seems to be a lot of documentation indicating you can save named palettes.  Perhaps I'm missing how to name and save the palette.  I do see the disk icon, which appears to save it, but I can't see how to give the palette a name.

I don't recall being able to name palettes.

You can’t name them but you can change the file name once saved and the filename will be displayed in the tool tip as you go to select one.
