Title: ENTEC Open DMX not supported?
Post by: CoasterBP on November 23, 2014, 08:30:00 PM
Just tried messing around with my Enttec Open DMX and NC and noticed that it wasn't listed in the supported devices list in the setup tab...

I tried it anyways and my results were not good. Is the Open version not supported?

Thanks!

It is supported.  Open DMX.
What version of xlights are you using?

Version 3.6.7

I'll tinker around some more and see if I can't figure out what's happening.

God I'm so stupid sometimes...

Scrolled down the list a little further to see the Open DMX option there.

I tried that and it worked.... for the most part.

I'm still having an issue with 5 of my RGB floods (http://www.eliminatorlighting.com/pdffiles/electro86.pdf)

These, I have to have the control channel set at a DMX Value of 189. Very easy to do in LOR. So made a test sequence in LOR with that correct address at a DMX value of 189 for the entire sequence. Was not getting very good results even though everything else was working fine so far.

Any ideas on that?

More tinkering tomorrow.

***EDIT - After looking at the xLights/Nutcracker FB page, another user is having the same issue where a specific DMX value is NOT being converted correctly when going from LOR to xLights... anyone have some insight?

why not define your floods as 3 channels like this

1    flood1
7    flood2
13  flood3

then make a single string, 1 light dummy light starting on channels
4    dummy1
10  dummy2
16  dummy3

on the dummy lights set a colorwash of red where you set the rgb value to 189,0,0
Now in your sequence u can control the rgb floods
just leave colorwash on the dummy lights (put colorwash on in the first row and blanks all the way down , this will keep the colorwash keeping outputting 189 on the very next channel above the floods

I'll give this a shot, Sean.

Thanks! I'll keep you advised of my progress.
