I was wondering how people handle large trees in their all pixel display.
-
I use C-9 pixels on my mature Japanese Maple tree. I would consider this a medium tree. I know a lot of people wrap trunks and limbs, but I went the opposite way. I have about 28 strings all starting at the base of the trunk working their way out various paths to the edge of the tree's crown. It works out pretty nice that a 50-pixel string at 4" spacing fits almost perfectly. I modeled it as 2 upside-down mega trees on top of each other. One model was very wide for the strings that mostly went horizontal and the other model was thin for the more vertical strings. I can take a picture or short video if you're interested. I get lots of compliments and I really like it. I don't have a real mega tree yet. In the plans for next year lol.

I would love to see a picture of what you're talking about.

OK, let me work on that.

Sorry for the lousy quality cellphone pic.

Neighbor took a better pic. Same tree

It looks very good on your tree, but my tree only has 3 branches.
