Title: Two questions
Post by: garhett on December 19, 2018, 01:47:41 PM
Have been searching and didn't find what I am looking for (wasn't long, sick with sinus headache).

First - How to create a fairly large marty fan in xlights - The marty fan is set up for 48 strands. I plan/hope to do 24 strands in a V. Having a hard time figuring out how to create this in the layout.

Second - how to draw in non RGB LED strings for net lights, etc.

I don't know who Marty is but for any non-standard model you use the Custom model and draw the layout yourself.

There isn't really a way to draw net lights.   What you might try is just using a square to place in the area of the net, multiple squares if you are using multiple nets.

You can draw anything with a custom model.

I use the matrix tool to draw net lights: # of strings = 1
                                                         Lights/string = 100
                                                         Strands/string = 10

It looks close enough as far as I'm concerned.

True, I should have said no 'easy' way to draw net lights.  IMO, the square idea works fine, unless someone really needs to 'see' the exact representation in their layout.
