Title: Color blind
Post by: babybear on February 04, 2019, 07:59:01 PM
Ok I'm helping out someone on a one on one level getting started in this hobby.  They sent me one of his sequences.  His colors were to me off.  Come to find out he is color blind. So is there any way of putting names or color codes with the colors. Not sure if a lable of 255,0,0 for red is enough. White 255,255,255. That would be the largest space needed. Any thoughts?

For any of the colors he could click the color swatch and then the Define Custom Colors button and then he can read the number value for each color.  Of course he would need to remember them but its doable.  I just don't see the screen space to add these labels unless they could do it with tooltips.

Tooltips sounds like a good idea especially one can turn them on and off.   I personally have not grasp the idea not seeing color. Or as shade of red looking like a shade of green in a gray scale.

At least 8% of the male population is color blind in at least one color. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_blindness?wprov=sfla1

Yeah I don't even touch the code unless it affects a minimum of 10% of the users....lol.

Well we can't be partial here! You need to include the stats for women, so with them only having a .5% chance of having color blindness the scales are tipping pretty low..... LOL
