Title: Update issues
Post by: charlie-68 on May 31, 2019, 05:33:11 PM
I just tried to download the last update and my computer stopped it. I see a popup that says files corrupted . Can you check the download. This is the first time I have seen that. Thanks  Charlie J.

since my last couple updates things has been a little unstable with xlights.  today I'm in the sequencer changing brightness and xlights shut down. I'm also looking at the sequences because I moved some props around, and I noticed that some are not looking as expected. mainly my arches. the right two are ok but the left two are out of sequence. What do I need to down load for you to check the issue?

I think I solved my problem. I forgot to do a check sequence and found that I had changed an universe number, thus over-lapping channels.  Could that cause a crash?

I am pretty sure overlapping channels is not the cause of this issue.

This crash is one i have been trying to find the cause of for months but I just cant see what the problem is.

If you are able to reliably reproduce it i would be incredibly grateful for more information.

Take a look at this github bug report. An awesome example of how to report a bug and because it was reported so well it was fixed immediately.

https://github.com/smeighan/xLights/issues/1602

What we need varies by problem. In this case I needed very little as he produced it from a new show folder.

Some times I need packaged logs. More often a packaged sequence. Packaging is helpful because it ensures all files are there.

Getting the problem down to a simple scenario really helps.
