Title: Wi-fi-pi?
Post by: flyinverted on November 28, 2014, 05:23:18 PM
Can the FalconPi  be a WIFI player for playback?

I need to have one model with 100 nodes to be very remote.

Is that remote item DMX?  If yes, there are several DMX transmit/receive options.

I know that DIYLightAnimation (RJ's site) has a solid setup for this. (but they are kits. To get one, you would have to make a "I want to buy..." request)

You can run the main FPP in Master mode and the remote in 'remote' mode and the remote will sync to the master if you copy the same sequences to both and they can see each other over the network.  Configure the remote in the master's MultiSync config page.

Thanks CapnM.

Just to clarify, the remote will work via Wifi?

Thanks,
Steve

Yes, wired or wireless is fine on master and remote.  The sync packets are small and once per second so there are no high bandwidth requirements between the master and remote.
