Title: Fading issues with LOR AC Boxes
Post by: collinator24 on November 06, 2019, 08:38:23 AM
Hey guys, is there a setting I can change in xlights or something to have better fading support. Right now, the fading looks quite choppy, and when fading for too long, the lights appear to turn off slightly then come back on, which ruins my fading effect. I might add a video later, this issue is mainly for LED lights, however, there is still choppiness with standard incandescent lights.

Also, there are videos with people having an AC button, however, I do not have that button. I simply set the color to a single color, did they remove the AC button, or am I supposed to use it?

I use LOR AC boxes and don't see that problem.  I can assure you xLights is doing as smooth a ramp as possible based on the length of the effect and the timing duration.  The AC toolbar is something that can be moved and disabled.  You should be able to restore it with the view menu.

Interesting, I perhaps I have sequenced it wrong. I just did the start and end intensity. I'll check it out when I get home, it is most pronounced when I am doing effects, as the effects look like they are looping every 2 seconds, and it does not look great. I will have to check that out. I will let you know. The issue I am having is that when fading in or out, the lights will sometimes turn off, and then come back on during the curve. Hopefully, it can be fixed with that. I will check it out, and let you know.

I remember there was a case where an On effect would ramp up like 3 times during the duration of the effect. Can't remember if there is a setting that does that or it was a bug we fixed.  But you should be able to expand the model down to the node level and look at what the data looks like on the node.  Does it appear to be a smooth ramp up or down?

By expanding do you mean zooming in on the ramp, or something else?

No if you double-click the model in the row heading it expands to show the strands and you double click a strand it expands to show the nodes which is where we draw the actual data.

To see the ac toolbar you need to tiurn it on in the view menu.
